Christmas In November?

Who: Miami Horror

What: It seems Christmas is going to come around a little early this year. After what seemed like forever, the Bravado EP has finally been set to drop November 15th through EMI/Virgin Australia! With five scorching original tracks (you can stream two new ones on MySpace), this EP's gonna pack a punch filled with the dark and glamorous South Beach disco flair that gets me so absolutely wrecked on the dance floor.

Song: I Can Cook (Miami Horror Remix) by Grafton Primary

Song: Road To Recovery (Miami Horror Remix) by Midnight Juggernauts

The "Summerfest '86" rework that will appear on the EP is the absolute stadium-status anthem of the year that's gonna hold the title forever, and sure to have jaws dropping and discos rocking across the planet. This guy is the epitome of Melbourne's electronic-indie music scene right now, and we can't wait to see what else he's got goin' on right around the corner. The EP will be available on CD in Australia and on iTunes/Beatport for other countries, so ch-che-check it out.

Empire of the Van She Tech

Who: Empire Of The Sun

What: I couldn't ask for a better song to ease me into this quiet, hungover, rainy day. It's mellow and bright and it's bold and absolutely brilliant. Chicken soup for the burnt-out soul. Unfortunately there isn't much out from the Australian duo right now; but after this track, that'll change soon enough. In the meantime, they've been getting mixed by some pretty sick people. In fact, when I picked the tracks for the Van She post, I completely forgot they had taken their own turn at Empire Of The Sun, and what better way to follow Van She than with more Van She.

V for Van She

Who: Van She

What: Finaaaaally! I cracked open the debut album from Australian dance/rockers Van She that dropped into stores earlier this month, and it almost singlehandedly got me through the rest of the week. The album, V, is so full of that juicy disco-pop electro that gets you goin' every. single. time. With the remixes that they've been tossin' back, these guys are so full of that vintage electro sound that miniature dance parties have been springing up all over the area. The "Alone Again" mix by itself is a fucking tornado that'll rip through your speakers and leave you panting for more. So go grab V and snag a few remixes, because the forecast has bigger parties and harder dancing headed your way.

Love Unlocked

Who: Kanye West

What: When Kanye West dropped "Love Lockdown" at the end of MTV's Video Music Awards earlier this month, it seems a lot of people weren't too sure what to make of it. But now, thanks to Kanye himself, you can make whatever you want out of it. He's gone and pulled a Radiohead, releasing six stems for the 4:30 song, all of which are available for download off his blog. The track's definitely a new direction for him, and hopefully the remixes that are already starting to emerge will push it a bit farther.

Diamonds from Alaska

Who: Baby Diamonds

What: Baby Diamonds just dropped another track with a little David Banner sample that's got us drippin' sweat. Got a pretty tight electro/filter sound, I love that crisp synth he workin with. Pretty sick stuff coming from this guy, check up with him on his MySpace and give him some love.

True Pseudo

Who: True Pseudo

What: At it again with their new take on "Electric Feel", True Pseudo can go ahead and chalk up another one to a quickly growing laundry-list of absolutely naassty tracks. Last time we heard from them they had just released four songs, but recently they've been throwin' down a few remixes and some more original stuff that's been circulating the internets and blasting our speakers. They've been stepping it up and producing some pretty damn good music, I'm excited to see what they've got coming up next. Check em out.

Unstoppable

Who: Santogold

What: Despite a surprisingly short show on Friday, Santogold's been burnin' down venues across the country with a ton of people... A-Trak, Let's Go To War, Low vs Diamond, Trouble Andrew. After the mixtape release back over the summer, would've been cool to see a few more people jump on (we'll have to wait until 10/16 for Diplo, who'll be around with Boy 8-Bit), but for now the 75-minute mix is workin' just fine. Also check out the new DnB remix of "Unstoppable" from California DJs Calculon and Eric Yo!

Song: Say Aha (Tepr Remix) by Santogold

Apparently Santogold's been drawing some newer TV crowds with a few appearances on soundtracks scattered throughout the weekend and tonight. This Philly star's finally blowin' up, huh guys? What a joke. Fortunately, however, these mixes should be sweet enough to make you smile and forget all the stupid shit they put her music to. Take it easy.

Oh Yes It's Eighties Night, Oh What A Night!

Who: Edwin Van Cleef

What: There are only a couple of things that get me up really early, and few of them actually get me excited. But this track shocked our asses, got us on our feet, and has us dancing completely deliriously. Guess it doesn't technically count if we've been shakin' it all night and still haven't gone to bed yet, but whatever. Tonight is Eighties Night at one of our favorite venues, and this is the perfeeeect jam to rock everybody's neon spandex off. Edwin Van Cleef attacked DatA's latest single "Rapture" and blew it up into a sparkling 80's masterpiece that's just brilliant. It's flashy and it's retro and it's gritty in all the right places. Absolutely red hot, check it out alongside the original. It's gonna be a goooood fucking weekend. Have fun!

Up and Down and All Around

Who: Felix Cartal

What: ... I'm losing my patience, I just came here to bounce! Ladies are waxe-- sorry, been on a bit of a Justice rip for the past few posts. But if you're looking for the track that's gonna make you jump up and down and bounce all around, take a look at Felix Cartal. This guy just worked MSTRKRFT's "Bounce", and it's fucking haaarsh. He's running around the United States with them on their Fist of God Tour that's probably bringing a harder storm than they normally get in the midwest. But we in the northeast are prepared to get rocked when they blow through October 10th... should make for an absolutely insane night. Check out "Bounce" and his Lazaro Casanova mix below.

NNNot A Joke

What: The LPP remix made me think of this video, and while the "Stress" parody may be a pretty big joke, the new MMMatthais remix of the Dior Homme '09 show soundtrack "Planisphere" definitely is NOT. I posted on this guy a while back when he had another batch of mixes, but he recently finished this Digitalism track, and now he's hit the Justice mix that's been all over. MMMatthias absolutely decimates his remixes, and stubs out everything that tries to come close. Nowadays it seems seems some producers try to pump out a remix as fast as they can, and it ends up being overly-formulaic, or just really really shitty. But MMMatthias works his mixes so well, his shit is completely ill, I think he's an absolute powerhouse. Check him out.
